About Us

“For I know the plans i have for you declares the Lord. Plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope” – Jeremiah 29:11

Often times, we focus on the ending of Jeremiah 29:11. That God wants to give us good and not evil, a future and hope. Many times, we ignore one of the main premises of the gift… that God knows the plans He has for me. Not the plans I have for myself, not the plans my parents have or the plans that I believe the world has for me… that he has for me.

It is with this in mind that the College & Career program exist. For the past 11 years, 100% of our graduates have been accepted into college, but it doesn’t end there. Our goal isn’t to send a student off into the world after high school graduation with a diploma in one hand and an acceptance letter in the other… we walk with them well through their graduation from college or whatever path the Lord has for them.

Our College & Career program is three fold: mentoring for access to college, mentoring for persistence in college and mentoring for success in life. Through partnerships with a variety of entities across the Birmingham area and the state of Alabama, Restoration Academy is able to introduce students to a wide variety of experiences and experts in their field.

As one of the first 12 partner schools for the EY College MAP program, an program now in over 45 schools, the professionals at the international accounting firm come alongside our juniors and seniors helping with college readiness. Our RA Accounting, RA BEST and RA Law program bring professionals into the classrooms to teach our students about their respective field. Young Business Leaders of Birmingham focus on Career and Calling. Volunteers teach classes on public speaking and business communication. Our onsite marriage and family therapist works with students on the emotional aspect of college / life success. We recently partnered with the Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham on ACT readiness and preparation.

The Restoration Academy Scholarship Program links scholarships to Restoration Academy students. Through relationships with The University of Alabama, Alabama A&M University, Auburn University and the Luce Ends Scholarship Fund, qualified Restoration Academy graduates have funding opportunities available to them well into college.

The program boasts a 95% success rate. Of our 110 graduates since 2008, 95% are either in school, have graduated, are employed, are married and raising their family at home or are in the military.
